2017 Board of Directors

Mary Rio:  Founder & President

Mary worked in the banking industry.  She was the office manager for a heating and refrigeration firm before retiring.  In 2011 her life was dramatically changed after learning of a troubled child in her husband’s school.  That event spurred the founding of Clothing Our Kids (COK).  COK has improved the lives of over 9,000 at-risk, Pre-K and elementary-school-aged- children in Sussex County with nearly 46,000 items of clothing. 

John Smith:  Vice President 

John has a BA in Accounting from Bentley University and obtained his CPA in 1983.  Employed for 36 years by the Air Force Association, John held the position of Controller/Director of Finance.  John wears two hats at COK as he is also the CFO using his expertise to strengthen the financial elements.

Pam Fleuette:  Secretary – Treasurer

CEO of Sussex County Federal Credit Union from 2006 to present, previously, Pam was VP of Fleuette Financial Services from 1989-2006.  She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple and currently serves as President and a Board Member of the SCFCU Foundation supporting disadvantaged middle-school-aged children and their families in Sussex County.  Pam is the 2014 recipient of the prestigious Champion for Children Award and was the inspiration of SCFCU grants to COK. 

Dr. John (Jack) Blannett:  Board Member

Jack received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and has been a practicing Cardiologist for over 30 years. He is affiliated with the Mercy Catholic Medical Center.  Jack has been involved with many charitable organizations including COK.  Since retiring in June, he has become a larger part in planning COK’s future. 

Kate Gibson:  Board Member – Fundraising Chair

Director of development and Fundraising Chair for the COK since 2014.  Kate earned a B.A. in English from Skidmore College.  She spent her career within construction industry sales and marketing management.  She held positions with USG Corp, McGraw-Hill Dodge Reports and The Blue Book of Building and Construction where she was responsible for over 100 managers and sales reps for 30 years.  

Chris Kellogg:  Board Member

Chris holds a double major in Architecture and Engineering Design from Iowa State University.  He has been an entrepreneur his entire career, running his own professional search firm for eight years.  For the next 30 years, Chris started and ran an investment banking firm specializing in U.S. healthcare service businesses.  He is on the board of Elwyn Institute serving the needs of the mentally challenged, the deaf and the blind.  Since retiring, Chris has been a strong supporter of COK.

Michael Maybroda:  Board Member

Michael is the co-owner of Stephen and Co Salon and Spa where he is responsible for its financial management.  He holds a degree from Temple University in Journalism/Politcal Science.  Michael has helped in raising substantial funds for charities in Sussex County, including The Tunnel Cancer Center, Justin’s Beach House, Camp Rehoboth, the SPCA, and Beebe Hospital.  As Co-Chair, Michael also played a key role in raising funds for Rehoboth Beach House.
